Garden, Grounds, Lake, Mountains & Beyond

The landscape that shapes us, formed thousands of years ago in the Precambrian Era, the Nuwara Gala Mountain Range and surrounding woodlands of North Central Province are among the South Asia’s oldest geological features, an extraordinary landscape that has transformed with the seasons, droughts and monsoons, year after year, since the dawn of the earliest forms of life. We are committed to preserving the land around us for the next generations to come.

Peacock Hill House is surrounded by five acres of tropical wild garden with direct access to the Wewela Lake and beyond. The garden is tendered by our Resident Gardner Ananda, use of pesticides and synthetic fertilizer are prohibited, and we do not encourage use of plastics.
